This is my second year using Mel Bartholemew's Square Foot Garden method. I'm a beginner gardener at best, but found last year's harvest to be completely amazing. So here it is, 2009, in the midst of very scary times, and my desire to be self sufficient has become more than just a hobby. More than that, I want to know what I'm feeding to my family. The SFG method is an awesome way to produce enough food to feed my family in the space that I have available, and doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money. This blog is my way to keep record of what I've accomplished, getting advice from the multitude of better gardeners than I, as well as enlightening the non-gardener (or traditional gardener) on the SFG method.
I have a wonderful husband, Brandon, a 11 year old daughter, a 13 year old son, a 16 year old stepson and a brand spanking new 1 year old little girl (yikes!). My favorite puppy, Seamus, (and a yucky brown dog that came as a package deal with my hubby.) I've been a surgical nurse for 8 years now, and I loove it. I love my family and my friends, I love to read, I love getting involved and making changes for the better, I love horror movies, I love watching people, and I love thinking about all the things I have yet to do.
